Introduction to Hastelloy C22
HC22 alloy, also known as Hastelloy C-22 alloy, is a special nickel chromium molybdenum tungsten alloy designed to exhibit excellent corrosion resistance in various chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The high molybdenum and chromium content of this alloy enables it to resist the erosion of chloride ions, while the addition of tungsten further enhances its corrosion resistance. HC22 alloy is one of the few materials that can withstand moisture, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solution corrosion, and also exhibits extremely high corrosion resistance to high concentration chloride solutions. In addition, the main components of HC22 alloy include nickel, iron, chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten. The combination of these elements endows the alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, making it suitable for various extreme working environments. The density of HC22 alloy is approximately 8.69 g/cm ³, which is within the normal range compared to other nickel based alloys.
