What is ASTM A234 WP91?

There are different standards and specifications involved. There are three major standards to cover major groups of nominal sizes. The range from 1/3 to 4 inches is governed by B16.11 standard where the B16.5 covers up to 24 inches, the B16.9 covers up to 48 inches and the B16.47 covers nominal sizes of up to 60 inches. There are also pressure classes such as 300, 600 and so on which govern the pressure containment capacities of the ASTM A234 WP91 Fittings made pipe fittings. The standard specification for A234 WP91 covers both fittings that have been constructed with both seamless as well as welded construction. In the term A234 WP91, WP91 is known as one of the steel grades in this particular standard where W means weldable, while P stands for pressure and the number 91 is referred to as grade 91.

There are various kinds of forging or shaping operations that can be performed on the Alloy Steel Grade WP91 Fittings.
