(1) the universality and versatility of application are not as good as austenitic stainless steel, for example, its service temperature must be controlled below 250 ℃.
(2) its plastic toughness is lower than that of austenitic stainless steel, and its cold, hot working process and forming performance are not as good as that of austenitic stainless steel.
(3) there is a middle temperature brittleness zone, so it is necessary to strictly control the heat treatment and welding process system to avoid the occurrence of harmful phases and damage the performance.
2.About duplex stainless steel 2205:
Applications
Welded pipe, tubular components, chemical processing, transport and storage, pulp and paper digesters, liquor tanks and paper machines, oil and gas exploration and processing equipment
Description
Duplex Alloy 2205 is a two-phase, ferritic, austenitic 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, 5 to 6% nickel alloyed stainless steel. It is the most widely used duplex stainless steel grade and is characterized by high yield strength, double that of the standard austenitic stainless steel grades. It demonstrates good fatigue strength, as well as outstanding resistance to stress-corrosion cracking, crevice, pitting, erosion and general corrosion in severe environments.
