Introduction
HDD hole opener for horizontal drilling
Horizontal reamer, also known as HDDD reamer, is used to expand the pilot hole of horizontal directional drilling (HDDD) - HDDD is used when grooves and excavations are not practical. This drilling technique allows drilling underground in a manipulable trenchless manner.


The main structure features
Reamer with interchangeable tool was developed for large diameter HDD projects where extending downhole life is critical. Larger bearings and tools significantly extend downhole life compared to smaller, conventional types of tools.
The replaceable cutter sets are available in both TCI and Milled Tooth styles to fit for all sorts of rock formation. All bit's bodies have three-six cutters and can open four different hole sizes.
All cutters bearing is metal sealed. Cutters lock is used for preventing cutter failing off.
400-2000mm hole opener are available.

Cutting structure
The reaming bit is mainly composed of four or more cones. The main cutting teeth are new wear-resistant alloys for tungsten carbide inserts and steel teeth welding. The service life of the reaming bit is improved by the high quality tungsten carbide teeth with new formula and new technology. The guide is a roller bit or a drawing bit.
Seal and Lubrication
The bearing seal applys high performance O-ring seal or metal sealed bearing and imported lubrication grease special for bit.
Product Predominance
It is applied in the big size casing well section, mining and infrastructure building drilling.

1. The first stage is to drill a small diameter pilot hole.
2. The second stage is enlarge the hole with a larger diameter cutting tool called an HDD Reamer,
3. The third stage is inserting the casing pipe or other product into the enlarged hole.
