INCOLOY A-286/S66286/1.4980 Bar / Rod / Wire / Forging / Plate / Strip Reliable Choice For Fabricated And Welded Components In Nuclear Reactors
Incoloy A-286 (UNS S66286 / W.Nr. 1.4980) is an iron-nickel-chromium-based superalloy known for high strength, excellent oxidation resistance, and good fabricability at elevated temperatures up to 700°C (1290°F). It offers superior creep and rupture resistance, and can be age-hardened for increased strength. This alloy resists corrosion in mildly corrosive environments and maintains mechanical properties under stress. It is commonly used in aerospace, gas turbines, automotive exhaust systems, and fasteners. Typical product forms — bar, rod, wire, forging, plate, and strip — are chosen for components requiring long-term thermal stability, such as turbine disks, blades, and high-temperature springs. Incoloy A-286 is also readily weldable and formable, making it a versatile choice for high-temperature engineering.
