R-410A is a near azeotropic mixture of difluoromethane (CH2F2, called R-32) and pentafluoroethane (C2HF5, called R-125), used as a refrigerant in air conditioning applications. Unlike many halogenated alkane refrigerants, it does not consume ozone, so it is widely used. Carrier was the first company to launch R-410A-based household air conditioners on the market in 1996.
