Class 100 Horizontal Laminar Airflow Hood Work Bench With HEPA/ULPA Filtration

Vertical laminar airflow with HEPA/ULPA filtration protects materials inside the cabinet from particulates.
High efficiency ebm-papst centrifugal fan.

Control Panel: The control panel includes an On/Off switch for simple operation.

Airflow Alarm: HEPA filter with 99.99% efficiency for 0.3 micron particulates (ULPA optional).

Pre-Filter: Disposable polyester fiber pre-filter with 85% arrestance.

Blower Motor: ebm-papst centrifugal fan.

Stand: Optional base stand converts to mobile cart with optional locking casters.

Lighting: Compact LED cabinet lamp located away from laminar flow area.

Pass Through Ports: Convenient rear-wall pass through ports for safe routing of instrument cords, cables, and leads

Filter Door Lock: Prevents unauthorized removal or accidental exposure to saturated filters.

Filter Clamp: Wide knob filter clamps are conveniently located forward of the assembly. The clamps secure the filter to the plenum with even pressure to assure a tight seal and to simplify filter removal and replacement when required.

Work Surface: Optional polypropylene spill tray, available in white or black, or optional stainless steel spill tray available.

Horizontal Flow Clean Benches


If you do not use large or bulky equipment on the work surface and want to ensure the lowest level of turbulence, horizontal flow might be best for you.
Risks of contamination from operators may be reduced in horizontal laminar flow hoods because hands are located downstream of the airflow. That means anything you might introduce when working within the hood is immediately pushed out of the enclosure.

Why Laminar flow?


Clean benches are equipped with either vertical or horizontal laminar flow. Both of these configurations provide a unidirectional velocity along parallel flow lines. Simply, all of the air inside the confines of the bench flows in a single direction without backwash, typically an an area of turbulent airflow created by obstructions, equipment, or movement within the clean bench enclosure. Proper enclosure design helps prevent backwash and ensures that the vertical or horizontal laminar air flow continues to protect work on the surface of the clean bench.

Which one is Better - Horizontal or Vertical Laminar Flow Clean Benches?

Whether horizontal or vertical, laminar flow cabinets provide unidirectional airflow that sweeps particulates out of the enclosure. Both types are designed to prevent stagnant air or dead zones that cause particle buildup as well as turbulent, violent, or erratic airflow that creates swirls or unpredictable particulate movement across the work surface and leads to possible contamination.

Main Differences in Horizontal Laminar Flow and Vertical Laminar Flow?


Horizontal laminar flow hoods more often have filters located on the back wall. Unidirectional filtered air is then passed horizontally from the rear, straight across the work surface.

Vertical laminar flow hoods typically have a top or ceiling mounted filter. Air exiting the filter media passes unidirectionally from the unit ceiling and then across the work surface, sweeping particles out of the enclosure as it goes.
