Description: Phlorizin, or phloridzin is a naturally occurring flavonoid produced in some plants. It is found primarily in Malus (apple) species although trace amounts exist in other species. In Malus it is most abundant in vegetative tissues (leaves, bark, etc...) and seeds.Phlorizin is a 2'-glucoside of phloretin. It belongs to the group of dihydrochalcones, a type of flavonoids.Clinical studies have shown that it has good efficacy in the treatment of diabetes.
Main function
1.Treatment for diabetes.It has a good control effect on diabetes and its complications.
2. Antioxidant. Phloridzin has anti-tumor activity. It has positive treatment effect on skin cancer. It can also inhibit the formation of melanin, pale brown, gray spots and freckles color when used in skin care products.
3. Antimicrobial effect. Phloroglucinol, the degradation products of Phlorizin, can effectively inhibit microbial activity.
4. Lowering blood glucose and lowering blood lipid.
5.In addition, Phlorizin can be hydrolyzed in human body to produce phloretin, which has better antioxidant ability.
