Description: Bayberry is the subtropical fruit. As the original and major production region, China has a long history of Bayberry cultivation. Bayberry bark tastes bitter. In traditional medicine, it is used for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, arthritis, and hemostasis. In folks, it is used for antibacterial, bones injuries, traumatic injury, fractures, toothache, dysentery and so on. Myricetin, one of the main active ingredient of bayberry bark, has a strong effect on anti-free radical oxidation and UV absorption. In recent years, studies have found that natural myricetin can lower blood sugar and protect the liver. In addition, it also has the function of anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antitumor effect, and obvious effect on cardiovascular protection. The bark of Myrica rubra is also rich in tannins, which can be used as dyestuff and astringent. Myricetin has been approved by FDA and widely used in medicine, food, cosmetics and healthcare products.
