HIFU for face procedure

There’s no special preparation needed before having an HIFU procedure. You should remove all

makeup and skin care products from the target area before treatment.

Here’s what to expect at your appointment:

A physician or technician first cleans the target area.
They may apply a topical anesthetic cream before starting.
The physician or technician then applies an ultrasound gel.
The HIFU device is placed against the skin.
Using an ultrasound viewer, the physician or technician adjusts the device to the right setting.
Ultrasound energy is then delivered to the target area in short pulses for roughly 30 to 90 minutes.
The device is removed.
If additional treatments are needed, you will schedule the next treatment.

While the ultrasound energy is being applied, you might feel heat and tingling. You can take a pain medication if it’s bothersome.

You’re free to go home and resume your normal daily activities right away after the procedure.

How many sessions of HIFU are needed?
Your aesthetic doctor will assess your skin's needs and customize a treatment plan that aligns with

your goals. In many cases, HIFU treatments are administered in a series of sessions. A common

protocol might involve 2 to 3 sessions spaced 3-4 months apart.

Who should avoid HIFU?
HIFU doesn't work if you are too old

There are limitations to what non-surgical devices can achieve, but many mature people are perfectly

suitable for HIFU. You can't judge if the treatment is suitable or not by your age. Some young people

may show early signs of skin sagging and vice versa.

Is HIFU painful for the face?
Most people say they hardly feel anything at all. Others say they feel a sort of minor electric shock feeling

as the heat rays enter the skin. So whilst not 100% painless, it's definitely tolerable!

Is it okay to do HIFU every month?
For most problems, the HIFU treatment needs to be repeated 2-3 times to achieve the ideal result. The

ideal intervals are 1-3 months. At the same time, it is worth realizing that the effects of the treatment cannot

be seen immediately. The skin will be slightly tighter after the session.
