S31803 Duplex Steel Elbow Pipe Fitting Elbow Concentric Eccentric Reducer, Straight Reducing Tee, Cap,Threadolet, Plug
Overview
S31803 duplex steel is a nitrogen-enhanced duplex stainless steel alloy that comprises 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, and 4.5% nickel along with nitrogen additions. This unique composition offers exceptional properties and performance.
The yield strength of S31803 duplex steel is remarkable, being twice as high as that of austenitic stainless steel. This significant strength advantage allows for product designers to reduce the weight of their creations, which in turn gives this alloy a cost-effective edge compared to grades like 316L or 317L. Specifically, S31803 is ideally suited for applications within the temperature range of -50 °F to +600 °F. Although it can be considered for use outside this range, there are limitations, particularly when dealing with welded structures.
The exceptional performance characteristics of S31803 duplex steel have contributed to its widespread application, making it the most commonly used grade in the duplex steel category.
Physical and Mechanical Properties of S31803 Duplex Stainless Steel
S31803 duplex steel's dual-phase density stands at 8.0g/cm3. It possesses a tensile strength of σ B ≥ 620Mpa, ensuring robust performance under various loads. The yield strength of this alloy is σ 0.2 ≥ 450Mpa, highlighting its capacity to withstand deformation without breaking. Furthermore, the elongation rate of S31803 duplex steel is δ ≥ 25%, indicating its ability to undergo significant plastic deformation before fracture.
