S31803 duplex steel is a nitrogen-containing duplex stainless steel composed of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, and 4.5% nickel nitrogen alloy.
The yield strength of S31803 duplex steel is twice that of austenitic stainless steel, which allows designers to reduce weight when designing products and gives this alloy a price advantage over 316317L. This alloy is particularly suitable for the temperature range of -50 ° F/+600 ° F. Applications beyond this temperature range can also consider this alloy, but there are some limitations, especially when applied to welded structures. Due to the special performance characteristics of S31803 duplex steel, its application range is very wide, and it is still the most widely used grade in duplex steel.
