Feature
SAE4140 engineering steel has good machinability, processing distortion is small, the fatigue resistance is quite good, is a medium hardenability steel, 4140 after heat treatment has better strength and good overall mechanical properties, good technology, high yield.
Use temperature of 427 degrees Celsius .4140 strength, high hardenability, toughness, small deformation during quenching, high temperature high creep strength and long-lasting strength.
Applications
For the manufacture of steel with higher strength and quarry section than 35CrMo, such as locomotive traction gear, supercharger transmission gear, rear axle, heavy load connecting rod and spring clamp, can also be used 2000m below the deep oil drill pipe joints and salvage tools, and can be used for bending machine molds.

Quality Condition
a. Both end of each bar must be cut as require
b. Ladle furnanced and vacuum de-gassed
c. Show heat No. on each bar
d. Surface condition the surface of the hot rolled square bar shall befree cracks, scar and wrinkles that affect the use of the billets. In case there is the above-mentioned defect, it shall be remove.
e. The mill test certificate shall show the chemical composition, and it is guaranteed that the chemical composition shall be within the limit stipulated in the contract.
