20 steel is a high-grade unalloyed steel used in metal structures and components operating in temperatures of -40°С to +450°С. Hot-rolled and forged long products made from 20 steel conform to the DSTU 7809 and GOST 1050 standards.
Classification: High-grade structural carbon steel.
Products: Steel Sheets, long product.

20 steel is used in construction; machine-building; boiler and tank production; and heating elements of various specifications. High-grade unalloyed structural 20 steel in the form of flat and rolled products is used in preparing parts for weld-fabricated structures, pipelines, accumulators, bearing inserts, slings and other products. Thermo-chemical treatment (cementation, nitriding, nitrocarburising etc.) gives the axles, gears, worm screws, friction discs, shafts, spindles, bolts, cogs, pins and other steel components a strong surface hardness and durability, despite a low core strength.
Any type of welding is applicable, except for components that have been thermo-chemically treated. The standard welding methods are manual-arc, automatic-arc, automatic-arc submerged gas-protected and butt-resistance welding.
