Product Description

Sintered calcium aluminate for steel plant to reduce the impurity of the steel water is produced by burning the raw materials of high grade crude aluminous bauxite and limestone in arc-furnace kiln. It is mainly used in refining ladle to remove the sulfide impurities from steel liquid and keeping good fluidity of slag.

From the production form,the calcium aluminate could devide into 3 type:Pre-melting (fused / Flux)type, sintered type, mixed type calcium aluminate.

The composition of sintered type calcium aluminate is more uniform and stable than mixed type, melting speed is faster, but the cost is relatively increased, and because sintered slag density small porosity, easy to cause refining process suction.(sintering type calcium aluminate refining slag)

Features of Low melting point sintered calcium aluminate for steel ladle/steel factory:

The oxidization of the slag after tapping of the converter is very high, w (FeO + MnO) = 25 % ~ 40%. After the slag reduction treatment, w(FeO + MnO) in the slag sharply decreased. After the modification, the slag w(FeO + MnO) in the RH treatment is 0.72 % ~ 5.38 %, and most of the cases can be controlled below 3%, which creates conditions for deoxidation and desulfurization of molten steel.
Viscosity has a very close relationship with mass transfer and heat transfer rate between slag and molten steel, affecting the rate of metallurgical reaction. When the CaO content in the slag is too high, the precipitation of the solid phase in the slag causes the slag viscosity to increase and the fluidity deteriorates. However, since the refining slag contains a large amount of Al 2 O 3 , the problem of slag fluidity is effectively solved.
The binary alkalinity of the refining slag is very high, w(CaO) / w( SiO2) = 5 to 11. The ability of ladle slag to absorb Al2O3 inclusions is maintained at a high level, while secondary oxidation caused by SiO2 is prevented, and silicon back and sulfur recovery are suppressed.
