MIL-STD 350nm - 970nm Center Wavelength Long Pass Optical Filter
Long-wave pass edge filters are specifically designed to transmit longer wavelengths than the cut-on wavelength while rejecting shorter wavelengths using either absorption or reflection. Because long pass filters isolate specific wavelengths, long pass filters are desirable in systems where they can be used to trim excess wavelengths or stray light to reduce unwanted near band emissions. Industry applications include order sorting in photometry and fluorescence.
As an important optical element, HTOE specially manufactured long pass filters are widely used in digital imaging, biomedical cosmetology and fingerprint recognition. They are made to let light in one certain band pass through while cut off light in the other band.
