IEC 60068-2-75 Impact Testing Machine - 1J Spring Operated Impact Hammer
Example of spring hammer test apparatus
Figure E.1 shows an example of a spring hammer test apparatus complying with Clause 5, for energies not exceeding 1 J. The mass of the body assembly is 1250 g ± 10 g. The hammer head is fixed to the hammer shaft in such a way that the distance from its tip to the plane of impact (the plane of the cone truncation), when the striking element is on the point of release, has approximately the value shown for the spring compression in Table E.1 . Impact Testing Machine
The cone has a mass of approximately 60 g and the cone spring is such that it exerts a force of approximately 5 N when the release jaws are on the point of releasing the striking element. The release mechanism springs are adjusted so that they exert just sufficient pressure to keep the release jaws in the engaged position. Impact Testing Machine
The apparatus is cocked by pulling the cocking knob back until the release jaws engage with the groove in the hammer shaft. The release cone of the test apparatus is pushed against the prescribed position(s) on the specimen, perpendicular to the surface of the specimen. The pressure is slowly increased so that the cone moves back relative to the body of the apparatus until it is in contact with the release bars, which then move to operate the release mechanism and allow the hammer to strike the specimen.

Standard: IEC 60068-2-63, IEC 60068-2-75 test Ehb, IEC 60335-1, IEC 60598-1, IEC 60950, and IEC 60065
Application: This device is intended to test the impact resistance to shell, operating arm, handle, knob, indicator lights and shades of electrical appliance for household or similar purpose, to verify the safety performance and strength of the product.
Test sample: Shell, operating arm, handle, knob, indicator lights and shades
Feature:
1. The impact hammer is composed of three parts:
A. Shell. Includes housing, impact element guide and release mechanism, and parts fixed on these parts.
B. Impact element. Including the hammer, hammer tail and firing handle.
C. Release cone.
2. Working principle
The hammer generate impact energy by the mass and movement of impact element. When pulling the operating handle, release claw stop at the impact element release point, the hammer spring is pressed, when the compression quantity is different, the spring will release the different energy. For multi energy impact hammer, rotate the end cover to select corresponding impact energy. The impact energy was calibrated on calibration facility before delivery. Impact Testing Machine
