Description of Plug Socket Tester:

22 Force necessary to withdraw the plug
The construction of accessories shall allow the easy insertion and withdrawal of the plug, and prevent the plug from working out of the socket-outlet in normal use.

For the purposes of this test, resilient earthing contacts are deemed as a single pole, regardless of their quantity, while non-resilient earthing contacts, no matter how many, are not considered as a pole.

NOTE 1: A solid pin utilized for earthing purposes constitutes a non-resilient earthing contact.

Interlocked accessories undergo testing in their unlocked state.

Compliance is verified in the following manner.

For socket-outlets, the following tests are conducted:

A test to verify that the maximum force required to remove the test plug does not exceed the specified force in Table 16.
Another test to ensure that the minimum force necessary to withdraw a single pin gauge from each contact assembly is not less than the force indicated in Table 16.
For plugs featuring resilient earthing contact assemblies, the following tests are performed:

A test to ascertain that the maximum force needed to withdraw a single pin gauge from the individual resilient earthing contact assembly does not surpass the force specified in Table 16.
Another test to confirm that the minimum force required to remove a single pin gauge from the individual earthing contact assembly is not below the force listed in Table 16.

Standard of Plug Socket Tester:

IEC 60884-1 'Plugs and socket-outlets for household and similar purposes – Part 1: General requirements' clause 22.1, VDE0620

Application of Plug Socket Tester:

It is used to test whether the maximum force of pulling the plug from the socket and the minimum force of pulling the single plug pin from the plug bush is in the range of the standard required. The clamping system is easy to operate.

Household or similar purpose sockets.

Parameters of Plug Socket Tester:

Test plug Test plug: made of hardened steel with roughness not exceeding 0.8 mm. The test plug is made according to TIS166-2549 - figure A.6, TIS166-2549 - figure A.7, TIS166-2549 - figure A.9 and TIS166-2549 - figure A.10.
Weights Equipped with a set of weights and a clamping system. One safety lanyard shall be provided to prevent the test plug from falling and damaging during use
