To evaluate if threaded and non-threaded terminals can endure mechanical stress in normal use.

Specifically, to determine if the design and structure of thread clamp type terminals meet the requirement of not overly damaging the wire during clamping.

Structure and Function:

Allows presetting the number of tests, and it will automatically stop at the set value with a sound alarm signal.

Relevant Clause Details:

A connector should be fastened to a conductor length at least 76 mm (3 in) longer than the height specified in Table 26 and secured vertically to simulate actual service.

The conductor's free end passes through a bushing of the size in Table 26, attached to an arm driven by a motor at about 9 rpm, with the bushing's center describing a 76 mm (3 in) minimum diameter circle in a horizontal plane, vertically below the connector's conductor opening center.

The distance between the bushing's upper side and the connector's mouth should be within 12.7 mm (1/2 in) of the height in Table 26. The bushing is lubricated to prevent binding, twisting, or rotation of the insulated conductor, and a mass from Table 26 is suspended from the conductor's free end.
