3.GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The ADXL317 is a small, thin, low latency, 3-axis accelerometerwith high resolution (14-bit) measurement up to ±16 g. Digitaloutput data is formatted as an I2S/time-division multiplexing(TDM) signal. Additionally, an I2C digital interface is providedfor user configuration.
The ADXL317 is well suited for wideband active noise control(ANC) applications. Featuring very low latency from the momentof acceleration to the transmission of digital output data, theADXL317 is uniquely capable of responding quickly enoughto allow wideband ANC systems sufficient time to respond tonoise scenarios. The low noise of the ADXL317 enhances theability of the device to accurately discriminate various externalnoise sources.
Due to the wide operating temperature range and highperformance, the ADXL317 is ideal for other wheel wellapplications, such as adaptive suspension control.
The Automotive Audio Bus (A2B®) developed by AnalogDevices, Inc., introduces system wide savings in cabling costs. The ADXL317 is designed to interface directly with the A2Bproduct portfolio, such as the AD2425W, AD2428W, and
AD2429W A2B transceivers.
The ADXL317 is supplied in a small, thin, 5 mm × 5 mm ×1.45 mm, 32-pin LFCSP package. The device is qualified for usein automotive applications over the entire operating temperaturerange of –40°C to +125°C.
