The 2711P-RDT12AG is an operator interface device that monitors and controls the devices that are attached to ControlLogix® 5570 or to CompactLogix™ 5370 controllers through an EtherNet/IP network. Its animated graphics and high-resolution text displays let users monitor the state of the machine it controls. The users can interact with the 2711P-RDT12AG’s control system with its touchscreen. It comes with graphic color-display modules and the touchscreen is analog resistive. The 2711P-RDT12AG also has memory expansion modules for field upgrades to 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of CompactFlash memory. The 2711P-RDT12AG comes with a 650 MHz Celeron processor. It has Ethernet and serial communications ports as well as a modular communication interface port for easy add-on capability. Its power input can be AC voltage (85-264V AC) or DC voltage (18...32V DC). The CompactFlash card slot supports Type 1 CompactFlash cards. Its USB ports provide connections for a keyboard, a mouse, and a printer. It has enhanced terminals, field replaceable bezels, and standard or CE logic module. It also has the same panel cutouts as the PanelView Standard and PanelView terminals.

The 2711P-RDT12AG has a terminal functionality that allows it to connect to 1 controller, to as many as 25 screens, and to as many as 200 alarms. The FactoryTalk View Machine Edition software that it uses is good for creating and programming HMI applications. It has Ethernet communication capability which supports a linear and star network topology. It comes with a Windows CE OS that has desktop access for network configuration and for third-party applications. The 2711P-RDT12AG also has PDF viewer for accessing the PDF files which are stored on the terminal.
