Introduction
The main function of the EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) optical amplifier card is to perform power compensation on the signal light in the transmission link, and can simultaneously amplify up to 48 channels (channel spacing is 100GHz) or 96 channels (channel spacing is 50GHz) in the C-band.
The optical signal has the characteristics of flat gain, adjustable gain, and small noise index.
It is an indispensable and important part of DWDM system, future high-speed system, and all-optical network long-distance transmission.

Setup
1. Input and output power alarm threshold setting
The alarm threshold of the input and output power of the amplifier can be set through the network management. When the input power is lower than the threshold, the EDFA will alarm. At this time, the EDFA pump is turned off, and the EDFA does not work. When the EDFA output is lower than the threshold, an alarm will be prompted
2. Working mode setting
The working mode of the amplifier can be set through the network management: AGC constant gain mode, APC constant output mode, ACC constant current mode, the gain can be set in AGC mode, the setting range is ±1db is the best, the output power can be set in APC mode, the setting range is ±1dBm optimal
3. Eye protection mode setting
When installing and debugging or troubleshooting, you can turn on the eye protection mode of the amplifier through the network management system to reduce the output power of the EDFA to avoid injury to maintenance personnel
