Miniature 256x192 / 12μm Uncooled Microbolometer LWIR Infrared Detector for Consumer Electronics
GST212W is one of the Wafer Level Packing (WLP) uncooled thermal detectors developed by Global Sensor Technology (GST). This vanadium oxide (VOx) microbolometer detector covers long wavelength from 8 to 14μm. And its resolution is 256x192 with pixel size at 12μm.
The GST212W long wave infrared focal plane array (FPA) detector is specially developed for optimized size, weight, power, cost (SWaP-C), which has achieved high volume production with annual output up to 1,000,000 pieces.
Until now, we have provided our customers with various mature and stable infrared thermal imaging solutions. It’s easier for WLP thermal sensors developed by GST to be integrated into more terminal products and greatly reduces the cost for customers.

1. What is infrared thermal imaging?
Infrared thermal imaging is a kind of method which utilizes infrared radiation and thermal energy to gather information about objects. It converts invisible infrared radiation into visible infrared thermal image with temperature distribution of the target surface. Different objects and even different parts of the same object have different radiation ability and infrared reflection strength.
2. What can infrared imaging be used for?
-Night vision
-Search & rescue
-Non-destructive test
-Epidemic prevention
-Thermography
-Security & monitoring
-Firefighting
…
3. What is thermal imaging module?
A thermal imaging module usually consists of an infrared detector, infrared lens and hardware electronics with software and algorithm embedded. It is the minimum unit of a thermal imaging device.
