esting Smart Control Valves Is Now Easier Than Ever
The Fluke 710 Valve Test Loop Calibrator is designed to allow users to quickly and easily test on HART Smart Control Valves. The 710 offers integrated testing procedures and an intuitive user interface that allows users to check valves quickly and easily. In addition, the results of the quick valve check allow for at-a-glance diagnostics so you can make maintenance decisions faster than ever before. The results of the rapid valve condition test indicate whether the valve's operating condition is good, reduced, or poor, allowing you to quickly decide if additional maintenance is needed.
Valve Testing and HART Communication on a Precision Loop Calibrator
With the HART communication function, built into the 710 Valve Test Loop Calibrator, users can generate a 4-20 mA signal to move the intelligent control valve and interpret the valve's HART information signal to determine if the valve is moving to the intended position. In addition to position information, the measured pressure provided by the valve's internal I/P (which displaces the valve) can be determined using the HART communication protocol.
The 710 features test procedures that automatically increase and change the mA signal and monitor the control valve's HART position and pressure information, giving you better overview of valve status at the touch of a button.
Pre-configured valve checks, answers at a glance
Valve testing features built into the 710 include:
Manual Check: Manually change the mA signal and display variable HART position and pressure information. Ramp function for the entire mA signal range from 4 to 20 to 4 mA while recording the 0-100-0% position or applied pressure that displaces the valve from 0-100-0%. Stepping of the mA signal at the valve input in steps and evaluation of the valve's response to changes in the mA input. Speed tests to determine how quickly the valve can be opened or closed. Impact and partial travel tests that help check valves in a part of their range so they can be checked in a real-time process. In addition, the Fluke 710 offers:
HART data logging in the field. Once registered by the 710 model in the field, the ValveTrack™ software can load the HART configuration of up to 0 HART devices into your plant and generate data at output in .csv or .txt format. mA loop measurements with data logging and HART data can be recorded from a particular transmitter for troubleshooting and loop adjustment. The data logging function offers selectable capture with logging intervals of 1 to 6 seconds and a logging capacity to store 4910 records or 99 individual sessions. Each register contains the mA measurement and the four process variables. The 710 includes the following HART commands unique and compatible with control valves:
Automatic valve controller adjustmentThe Fluke 710 includes a built-in HART modem to communicate the following HART commands:
Reading the PV information from the sensor Reading Output PV Information Read and write PV drive type, ID tag, description, and message Reading and writing of the PV ranges (upper and lower) Turning On/Off Fixed Current Mode Definition of Zero Offset D/A converter zero (4 mA output) D/A converter gain adjustment (20 mA output) Valve testing procedures that provide a good, reduced, or poor condition assessment of the control valve Generic HART communication Best-in-class mA accuracy at a measurement or feed value of 0.01% Rugged, compact design Intuitive user interface with a quick-select rotary knob for easy setup and use 24V DC loop power with mA measurement mode (-25% to 125%) Resolution of 1 μA in the mA ranges and 1 mV in voltage ranges Selectable built-in 250 Ω resistor for HART communications Simple two-wire connection for all sizes Automatic shut-off to save battery life Variable step and ramp time in secondsIn addition, the 710 model offers:
HART data logging in the field. Once registered by the 710 model in the field, ValveTrack™ software can load the HART configuration of up to (20) HART devices into your plant and generate data at output in (.csv) and (.txt) formats. Data from recorded mA loop measurements and HART data can be recorded on a particular transmitter for troubleshooting and loop calibration. The data logging function offers selectable capture with logging intervals from 1 to 60 seconds and a logging capacity to store 4910 records or 99 individual sessions. Each register contains the mA measurement and the four process variables.ValveTrack™ software allows for analysis and trend generation after the fact
ValveTrack™ software allows you to:
Upload, print, and trace registered valve tests performed in the field Compare previously uploaded tests with newer ones View the test history of the valve with the HART identification label Export valve test data to CSV for further analysis in Microsoft Excel®
