The INA226 is a power and current shunt monitor with a PCTM or SMBUS interface. The gadget monitors a shunt voltage drop as well as the bus supply voltage. Direct readouts of current in amperes and power in watts are possible thanks to programmable calibration values, conversion times, and averaging, as well as an inbuilt multiplier. The INA226 measures current on common-mode bus voltages that can range from 0 V to 36 V, regardless of source voltage. The device operates from a single 2.7-V to 5.5-V supply, drawing an average supply current of 330 A. The device has an operational temperature range of - 40°C to 125°C and up to 16 programmable addresses on the I2C-compatible interface.
