What is VFD
A Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) is a type of motor controller that drives an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage supplied to the electric motor. Other names for a VFD are variable speed drive, adjustable speed drive, adjustable frequency drive, AC drive, microdrive, and inverter.
Frequency (or hertz) is directly related to the motor’s speed (RPMs). In other words, the faster the frequency, the faster the RPMs go. If an application does not require an electric motor to run at full speed, the VFD can be used to ramp down the frequency and voltage to meet the requirements of the electric motor’s load. As the application’s motor speed requirements change, the VFD can simply turn up or down the motor speed to meet the speed requirement.

VFD Fault judgment:
(1) Rectifier module is damaged
It is usually caused by grid voltage or an internal short circuit. Replace rectifier bridge when internal short circuit is eliminated. When handling faults on site, the user's power grid conditions, such as grid voltage, presence or absence of electric welding machines and other equipment polluting the power grid, shall be emphatically checked.
(2) The inverter module is damaged
It is usually caused by motor or cable damage and drive circuit failure. After repairing the drive circuit, replace the module when the drive waveform is in good condition. After replacing the driver board in the field service, you must also pay attention to check the motor and connecting cable. After confirming that there is no fault, run the inverter.
(3) No display after power on
Generally, it is caused by the damage of the switching power supply or the damage of the soft charging circuit so that the DC circuit has no direct current. For example, if the starting resistance is damaged, the panel may be damaged.
(4) Overvoltage or under-voltage is displayed after power on Generally due to lack of input phase, circuit aging and circuit board dampness. Find out its voltage detection circuit and detection point, and replace the damaged device.
(5) Overcurrent or short circuit to ground after power on
This is usually due to damage to the current detection circuit. Such as Hall elements, op amps, etc.
(6) Start display over current
It is usually caused by damage to the drive circuit or inverter module.
(7) The no-load output voltage is normal, and it shows overload or overcurrent after loading
This kind of situation is generally caused by improper parameter setting or aging of drive circuit and damage to the module.
