Lab Suspension 60mm X 15mm Cell Culture TC Treated Non-Treated Petri Dish
Description
Standard 60mm X 15mm petri dish Working Volume is 7-8mL, Growth Area is 21cm². Cell culture dishes are available in treated and untreated cell culture versions. Petri dishes (untreated cell culture dishes) have a thicker and more durable plastic than standard Petri dishes - both can be used for the same applications. Petri dishes are intended for the cultivation of cells on solid media for microbiological studies.
Features
- Smaller diameter consumes fewer media - "Media Saver".
- Ideal for water treatment and pharmaceutical membrane testing.
- Clear viewing surface.
- Clear viewing surfaces at the top and bottom.
- Ideal for use in automation.
- Disposable polystyrene petri dish for general microbiological use (single use).
- Molded from pure medical-grade polystyrene.
- Optically clear.
- Radiation sterilized.
- Contents are sterile when the cover is unopened.
- Ventilation ribs allow free air circulation and reduce condensation during incubation.
- Uniform flatness allows for the even distribution of media.
- Flared lid rim and rounded corners for easy one-handed operation, especially when wearing gloves.
- Certificates of sterilization are available upon request.

Why use plastic Petri dishes?
Petri dish materials can be divided into two main categories, plastic and glass. Glass can be used for plant material, microbial cultures, and adherent cultures of animal cells. Plastics can be polyethylene, which is disposable and reusable material suitable for laboratory inoculations, smears, and bacterial isolations, and can be used for culturing plant material.
Glass Petri dishes for laboratory use can be reused, but require processes such as printing, drying, sterilization, and handling, and the rate of damage is high, making the cost very high. The advantages of switching to disposable plastic Petri dishes are obvious.
