1, tooth surface wear
For open gear drive or closed gear drive containing dirty lubricating oil, due to the relative sliding between meshing tooth surfaces, some hard abrasive particles enter the friction surface, so as to change the tooth profile and increase the backlash, so that the excessive thinning of the gear leads to tooth fracture. In general, only when the lubricating oil is mixed with abrasive particles, it will cause abrasive wear on the tooth surface in operation.
2. Tooth surface bonding

When the two tooth surfaces continue to move relative, the harder tooth surface will be softer tooth surface along the sliding direction of part of the material torn down to form grooves.
