The basic principle of chelated iron desulfurization is that under weak alkaline conditions of desulfurization solution pH=7.5-9, the QRP value of Fe3+(L) is moderate. In the desulfurization absorption tower, Fe3+(L) can only oxidize HS - (L) into elemental S, and the homogeneous reaction rate is fast. Basically, it eliminates the opportunity for HS - (L) to enter the regeneration device and directly contact O2, resulting in high selectivity for generating elemental sulfur and low rate of secondary salt generation during the desulfurization process; And Fe2+(L) is oxidized by O2 in the regeneration device to Fe3+(L), while releasing OH -, achieving a desulfurization regeneration cycle.
