ST-64A Activated carbon saturation sulfur capacity tester


ST-64A activated carbon saturation sulfur capacity testing device is developed in accordance with the national standard GB/T7702.14-2008 "Test methods for coal based granular activated carbon - Determination of sulfur capacity". It is suitable for testing the saturated sulfur capacity of coal based granular activated carbon, as well as for testing the saturated sulfur capacity of other types of activated carbon.
Experimental principle
Under specified experimental conditions, it is beneficial for the porosity of activated carbon to adsorb hydrogen sulfide gas. In the presence of oxygen and ammonia, a catalytic reduction reaction occurs, and the precipitated elemental sulfur adheres to the activated carbon until it is fully adsorbed. The mass of saturated sulfur adsorbed on the sample is calculated, and the sulfur capacity of the activated carbon is expressed in milligrams of increments per gram of saturated adsorption of dry activated carbon sample.
