Bacterial filtration efficiency detector
1. Overview
Bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) detector is a special instrument to detect the ability of filter particulate matter from tested samples (such as masks) under specified conditions.
This instrument mainly refers to Technical Requirements for Medical Surgical Mask in YY0469-2011, Appendix B < Bacterial Filtering Efficiency (BFE) Test Method B.1.1. Use the simultaneous sampling and comparison method to improve the accuracy of sampling.
This instrument is applicable to measurement verification department, third-party testing, textile industry and fiber raw material industry, etc.

4. -related terms
Ø Bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE): The efficiency of the measured sample for bacterial particulate matter filtration is indicated in percent.
Ø Samples tested: masks, textiles and fiber raw materials are a physical barrier to prevent the direct passage of pathogen microorganisms, body fluids, particles, etc.
How the 5. works
After a certain concentration of bacterial aerosol occurs in the upstream of the tested sample, the bacterial aerosol enters two parallel airway sampling systems, where one way adds test samples at the upper end of the sampler, the other, as the positive quality control, and the ratio between the count positive QC value and the value of the sample to be the leakage rate, the filtration efficiency is obtained.
