High temperature and high pressure (HPHT) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD) are the two most commonly used growth methods in lab grown diamonds industrial.

Specifically, the lab grown diamonds growth process is to put high-purity graphite as carbon source in the high temperature area of the growth chamber of the top press, and place natural or cultivated diamond seeds in the low temperature area. Driven by a certain temperature gradient, carbon will diffuse from the high concentration area at high temperature to the low concentration area at low temperature, and crystallize at low temperature when the seed crystal is supersaturated.
