SAE J2302 Test Apparatus For Thermal Effectiveness Of Sleeve Insulation
This bench test must allow measures the resistance to radiant heat flow of insulating materials in sleeve, tubing or tape. The effectiveness of the sleeve is determined by measuring the temperature difference of a black ceramic cylinder and with and without protective sleeve.
Hot box (annex 2)
Internal dimensions of 500 x 500 x 500 mm.
Aluminum profile structure with insulated panel (stainless steel + insulation + stainless steel), on the bottom and sides.
An opening and closing system have to be provided on the top face.
A door with a porthole is to be provided on the front face.
Feet are also to be provided, with two options: feet of 2-10 cm to be placed on a table or feet of 50-80 cm to be placed on the ground
Radiant heat source (annex 3)
Radiant “Itech” (712400) 1500W Already available at GREMTEK - Provide a casing to hold the radiant and insulate the back face - Regulation via a contactless sensor at the center of the radiant (KEYENCE FT-H50 - annex 4)
Thermocouple K (annex 4)
K-type thermocouple probe with apparent couple - SV2000.
Compensed male minature connector termination.
Regulator / Recorder or automation system
The regulator must allow the temperature regulation on the surface of the heat source.
The regulation must be done via the contactless thermocouple (such as Keyence FT-H50K - annex 4).
The recorder or the automation system must store all temperature measurements (sources and K-type thermocouples).
These data must be easily retrievable from any PC connected to the network. Data extraction can be processed via Excel.
The recorder or the automation system must allow to define:
Which thermocouple controls the heat source The recording frequency (example : recording temperature every 1 or 5 seconds).
Record start and end time (if possible)
Add comments (if possible)
Define a name for the connected thermocouples (if possible)
Able to record up to 12 K-type thermocouples with MMK plug for miniature connectors (annex 4)
This must be able to firmly hold the cylinder at its ends parallel to this radiant according to different diameters.
The cylinder disassembly should be easy to proceed with its replacement (testing with or without protection).
The distance between the radiant face and the radiant surface should be easily adjustable from 5 to 100 mm.
The positioning system should be able to adaptable to use other supports than cylinders. For example: plates, customer parts, …
This positioning system must be able to be adapted to use supports other than cylinders. E.g. plate, customer parts, etc.
