Xenon weathering test can be used for the durability test after the selection of new materials, improving existing assessment materials or changes in material composition changes, this test chamber can be use for best simulation of material changes when exposure to the sun in different environmental conditions.

Purposes and Usage

• A Weather-Ometer uses a xenon arc light source to provide a radiation spectrum that simulates natural sunlight. Glass filters around the xenon arc modify the light spectrum to simulate the appropriate end use conditions. Moisture is provided by a humidifier and direct spray, and temperature is controlled by heaters. Microprocessors monitor and precisely control the radiation applied to the test samples.
• Checking materials such as paint, plastic, aluminum-plastic plate and automobile safety glass are required to do weatherability test.

a. Under colorfastness to light test, when wavelengths 380-750 nm, the min transmittance should be 90%; when wavelengths 310-320 nm, the min transmittance should be close to 0;

b. Under climatic colorfastness test, when wavelengths 380-750 nm, the min transmittance should be 90%; when wavelengths 290-300 nm, the min transmittance should be close to 0;
