Amazon has very strict requirements on the quality and performance of electric bicycle products. All electric bicycles must pass UL certification before they are allowed to be put on the shelves. Specifically, the following requirements need to be met:

Electric bicycles must comply with Part 1512 of Volume 16 of the Code of Federal Regulations (Bicycle Requirements).

Electric bicycles must comply with ANSI/CAN/UL 2849 (Electrical System Standard for Electric Bicycles) or ANSI/CAN/UL 2272 (Electrical System Standard for Personal Electric Riding Vehicles) or EN 15194 (European Electric Bicycle Safety Standard).

1. Processing procedures:

1. Submit application: The manufacturer submits an application for the UL2849 test report to the testing agency, which includes product information, production process, quality management system, etc.

2. Preparation for testing: After the application is approved, the manufacturer needs to prepare the electric bicycle samples to be tested and ensure that the samples meet the relevant standards and regulations.

3. Testing process: Submit the electric bicycle samples to be tested to UL for safety and performance testing, including electrical safety, mechanical safety, battery performance and other aspects.

4. Test report evaluation: UL will evaluate the test results of the samples. If the samples meet the requirements of UL2849, the corresponding test report will be issued.

5. Upload the test report: After obtaining the UL2849 test report, the manufacturer needs to upload the test report to Amazon US.

2. Test content:

UL2849 test mainly covers the safety and performance of electric bicycle products, including but not limited to the following:

1. Electrical safety: Test the safety performance of the electrical system, such as insulation resistance, battery management system, etc.

2. Mechanical safety: Test the mechanical properties such as strength and impact resistance of the body structure.

3. Battery performance: Test the battery capacity, cycle life, charging performance, etc.

4. Safety of use: Test the safety of product use, such as braking system, lighting system, anti-theft system, etc.

3. Processing cycle

The processing cycle and fees will vary according to the specific situation and requirements of the manufacturer. Generally, the processing cycle of UL2849 test report is about 5-7 working days.
