Description:
This single LED dimmer adopt advanced PWM control technology, used to control a variety of constant voltage LED single lamp, adopt knob to control the dimmer.

LED dimmers work in three ways
1. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) digitizes the power square wave and controls the duty cycle of the square wave, so as to achieve the purpose of controlling the current.

About LED Dimmer
Dimmer, an electrical device that changes the light flux of a light source in a lighting device, adjusts the level of illumination. The purpose of a dimmer is to adjust the light to different levels. By reducing or increasing the RMS voltage to promote the average power of the light produced by different intensity of light output. This regulation is intended to control lighting, although variable voltage devices can be used for a variety of purposes.
Dimmer types
Dimmers can be classified by mode of control and application. According to control mode it can be divided into resistance dimmer, voltage dimmer, magnetic amplification reactance dimmer and electronic dimmer. According to application way, It is divided into civil dimmer, film and television stage dimmer, airport light dimmer and day light integrated control system.
Resistance Dimmer---- to connect the resistance between light source and power supply, which change the resistance value to adjust the current in light source to achieve the purpose of dimming. Its disadvantages are energy consumption, low efficiency, large size and control inconvenience, the advantages can be used for AC and DC power and no radio interference. It can be used in laboratory, video demonstration and lighting of Marine navigation equipment.
Voltage Regulating Dimmer---A self-coupling transformer, which secondary voltage is changed by adjusting the contact position of the brush with the coil wound outside the transformer yoke. It has the advantages of less energy consumption, high efficiency and increasing the load in rated power without affecting the original dimming degree. Disadvantages are only suitable for AC power and heavy, consume more nonferrous and ferrous metals and couldn’t be remote controlled.
Magnetic Amplification Reactance Dimmer---- to change the reactance of AC windings by changing current amount wound in DC windings on iron yoke. It has good dimming performance and is easy to control, but large and bulky in volume, it has been replaced by electronic dimmers.
Electronic Dimmer ------to used thyratron as switching element in the early stage and silicon controlled element later. This dimmer is widely used because of its light weight, small size, high efficiency and easy remote controlling. Its disadvantage is that if effective filtering measures are not taken, radio interference will be generated and for gas discharge sources such as fluorescent lamps, high intensity gas discharge lamps, dimming is more difficult. And it can overcome this disadvantage to use high power transistor or field effect tube
