What is information: definitions

Definitions, is amended by the deletion of the definition “Construction Signs” and its replacement with the following:

Construction Signs: means all traffic control signs and associated devices identified, including vehicles and sign trailers, required to support signs and equipment to supply sign lighting, excluding the Project Information Sign and highway number markers.

Information Sign means a sign for public safety or convenience regulating on premises traffic, parking or other functional subdivision of premises or a sign denoting sections of a building and bearing no commercial advertising.

Information Sign means a sign which is incidental and necessary for public safety and convenience and general information that has a purpose secondary to the use of the property on which it is located. See also “Directional sign.”

Information Sign means a sign providing information other than that referred to in prohibition, warning, mandatory or emergency escape or first-aid signs;

Information Sign means a sign that provides information about the uses of the building or premises upon which the sign is located, or directions that relate directly to a building or premises; (panneau indicateur)

Information Sign means a form of Permanent Sign which states the address of the Building or Property to which the Sign pertains or directs or warns pedestrians or motorists or communicates information or instructions to Persons;

Information Sign means a sign which gives directional information or identifies specific use areas and which is necessary to maintain the orderly internal use of the premises, such as those signs which identify employee parking, shipping, clearance, or which restrict ingress and egress. Excluded from this definition are signs which are not directly related to an identified need for orderly internal use of the property and off-premises or portable signs.
