Seamless steel pipe description

Seamless steel pipe is a steel pipe formed by piercing the whole round steel, and there is no weld on the surface, which is called seamless steel pipe. According to the production method, seamless steel pipes can be divided into hot rolled seamless steel pipes, cold rolled seamless steel pipes, cold drawn seamless steel pipes, extruded seamless steel pipes, pipe jacking, etc. According to the section shape, seamless steel pipes can be divided into circular and special-shaped pipes. The special-shaped pipes can be square, elliptical, triangular, hexagonal, melon seed shaped, star shaped and finned pipes. The maximum diameter is 900mm and the minimum diameter is 4mm. According to different uses, there are thick wall seamless steel tubes and thin wall seamless steel tubes. Seamless steel pipes are mainly used as drilling pipes for petroleum geology, cracking pipes for petrochemical industry, boiler pipes, bearing pipes and high-precision structural steel pipes for automobiles, tractors and aviation.

1. Seamless steel pipes for general purposes are rolled from ordinary carbon structural steel, low alloy structural steel or alloy structural steel, with the largest output, and are mainly used as pipes or structural parts for fluid transportation.

2. Supply is divided into three categories according to different purposes:

a. Supply according to chemical composition and mechanical properties;

b. Supply according to mechanical properties;

c. Supplied as per hydrostatic test. The steel pipes supplied according to class a and b shall also undergo hydrostatic test if they are used to withstand liquid pressure.

3. Seamless tubes for special purposes include boiler seamless tubes, chemical and electric power seamless tubes, geological seamless tubes and petroleum seamless tubes.
