High temperature series 0.7-1.2m3/H China EDI Stacks LX-HD-100 For Pharmaceutical Industry
EDI (continuous electrodeionization) device is a process in which mixed ion exchange resin is used to adsorb anions and cations in water. At the same time, the adsorbed ions are removed through anion and cation exchange membranes respectively under the action of DC voltage. Unlike mixed bed, the ion exchange resin in this process does not need to be regenerated with acid and alkali. This device can produce ultrapure water with a resistivity of up to 10MΩ·cm, achieving deep desalination of water. 1. Working principle of EDI: In the EDI component, a certain number of EDI units are separated by mesh to form a concentrated water chamber. Anion/cation electrodes are set at both ends of the unit group. Under the impetus of DC, anions and cations in the water flow through the fresh water chamber pass through the anion and cation exchange membranes respectively and enter the concentrated water chamber and are removed. The water passing through the concentrate chamber takes the ions out of the system. A typical EDI system involves a treatment process: pretreatment - reverse osmosis system (RO) - EDI. EDI uses ordinary ion exchange resins to continuously remove ions from water, but because it uses electric current to continuously regenerate the resin, it does not need regular chemical regeneration at all. In a typical EDI system, 90% to 95% of the influent water passes directly through fresh water, and 5% to 10% of the influent water is distributed into the concentrate chamber by water. The concentrate is circulated by a pump and reaches a higher flow rate in the system, which can improve the desalination efficiency, promote water mixing, and reduce the possibility of scaling. Concentrated ions can be removed from the membrane stack by excluding a certain proportion of water from the concentrate circulation loop. This water with a pH of 5 to 8 can be recycled or directly returned to the entrance of the pretreatment system. In the process of electrodeionization, the impurity ions in the influent are removed to obtain high-quality desalted water.
