What is ultrasonic cleaning?

Ultra sonic cleaning involves the use of high-frequency sound waves that are above the upper range of human hearing (usually from 20–400 kHz) to remove a variety of contaminants from parts immersed in water. The contaminants can be dirt, carbon, paint, rust, oxidization, soot, oil, grease, flux, buffing/polishing compounds, and mold release agents, just to name a few.

Cleaning normally lasts between three and six minutes, but can also exceed 20 minutes, depending on the object to be cleaned.

There are many materials that can be cleaned including metals, plastics, glass, ceramics, and any hard durable item and so on. Ultrasonic agitation can be used with a variety of cleaning agents.

The best way to describe ultrasonic cleaning is thinking of it as a stereo system.
