During operation, the new surface of the glass insulator that is burned by lightning is still a smooth glass body with a tempered internal stress protection layer. Therefore, it still maintains sufficient insulation and mechanical strength.

Multiple disasters caused by conductor icing on 500 kV lines have caused galloping, and the composite suspension insulator subjected to conductor galloping has not experienced any degradation in mechanical and electrical performance after testing.
