The bricks are made of magnesite and chromite, fired at high temperature with excellent resistances in thermal shock, slag attack, thermal fatigue, and vacuum damage. Furthermore, they also have better resistance to Oxidation-reduction, and resistance to wear and erosion. Under vacuum refining conditions or strong oxidation atmosphere, or ultra high temperature molten fluid erosion, or high alkaline slag and alkalinity-changing slag erosion, their lifetime is only second to fused-bonded bricks, but more economical.
