SmCo Permanent Magnet For Motor
Product Paramenters
What are the components of samarium and cobalt?
Samarium-Cobalt magnet also named SmCo magnet by most customers, SmCo Magnet is manufactured by process called sintering and bonding. Our Company only supplies the sintering magnet, grade SmCo5 and Sm2Co17. The Magnet streng is weaker than NdFeB magnets, but more stronger than Ferrite Magnets. SmCo is the most expensive than other magnets. Magnet properties is very stable, has good resistance to corrosion and oxidation resistance.
SmCo magnet, a type of rare earth mgnet, is a strong permanent magnet of an alloy of samarium, cobalt, Iron and the other trace elemets. This high properties of SmCo magnet is namely series 1:5 and 2:17. And the highest working temperature can reach 300℃, melting temperaure reaches 1300℃. It has high corrosion and antioxidant capacity, generally do not need coating protection.
Hand it carefully by packing, because SmCo magnets are brittle and prone to cracking and chipping.
SmCo Series 1:5
SmCo Series 1:5 has one atom of rare earth samarium and five atoms of cobalt. By weight this magnet alloy will typically contain 36% samarium with the balance cobalt. SmCo magnets generally have a reversible temperature coefficient of -0.05%. The maximum working temperature is about 350 ℃.
SmCo Series 2:17
SmCo Series 2:17 are age-hardened with a composition of two atoms of rare-earth samarium and 13-17 atoms of transition metals(TM).
The TM content is rich in cobalt, but contains other elements such as iron and copper.
Other elements like zirconium, hafnium, and such may be added in small quantities to achieve better heat treatment. By weight, the alloy
will generally contain 25% of samarium. The maximum energy of these alloys ranges from 24 to 30 MGOe. SmCo magnets generally have
a reversible temperature coefficient of -0.03% ℃. The maximum working temprature is 350℃
