Our company specializes in the production of marine manhole covers. There are five models of A, B, C, D, and E for customers to choose from. This product is mainly suitable for watertight or oil-tight manhole covers for ships, not for boilers and pressure vessels. Marine manhole covers can be divided into oval and round shapes according to their shapes. The oval manhole covers are widely used. According to its sealing performance, it can be divided into oil-tight and water-tight. The difference between the two is the material of the sealing gasket. The oil-tight should be made of oil-resistant rubber, and the water-tight should be made of sea (fresh) water-resistant rubber. According to whether it is higher than the opening surface after installation, it can be divided into the protruding type and buried type. The protruding manhole cover is divided into 3 types according to its structure type, namely A type, B type, and C type. The buried manhole cover is divided into 2 types according to its structure type, namely D type, and E type.

① Weathertight cargo hatch cover

The cargo hatch covers installed on the freeboard deck are all weathertight steel hatch covers.

②Hatch cover of the oil-tight cargo oil tank

The hatches of cargo oil tanks shall not be arranged in the sheltered space. The hatch is small, but not less than 600 mm × 600 mm. There are measuring holes and observation holes with a diameter of not less than 150 mm on the hatch cover. There should be an effective cover and close device to ensure oil tightness on the hole.

The hatch openings of cargo oil tanks are usually round or oval. The long axis of the elliptical hatch is to be arranged along the length of the ship, and the openings are to be appropriately reinforced.

③Hatch covers in non-watertight cargo hold and cabins in residential areas The hatch on the lower deck of the cabin has no hatch coaming, and the hatch cover is flush with the surrounding deck.

Hatch cover design requirements

1. The structural strength of the hatch covers on all weather decks should be equal to the strength of their adjacent structures;

2. The closing device of the hatch cover should be weathertight;

3. If the hatch cover of the vehicle deck bears the vehicle load, the design pressure on the hatch cover should be checked for strength according to the value of the vehicle load.
