What is Marine Watertight Door?
Marine watertight doors can prevent the hull from being flooded if the hull breaks. The effectiveness of such arrangements is affected by several factors, but it is necessary to ensure that any watertight doors on the bulkhead are closed at or almost immediately after the occurrence of a rupture. It is also necessary to limit the number of access openings in the bulkheads and to exercise strict controls over the operation of watertight doors designed to close such openings.
Marine weather-tight door is more often called a weather-tight door, which is generally aimed at the outer door of the residential area, indicating that it can be weatherproof. A flushing test is usually carried out. Flushing test is divided into two kinds, one is to use the natural water without pressure on the door drench test, generally for the door above three layers, the other is to use the pressure of water for flushing test, generally for the outer door below three layers.
The water-tight door is flushing or flooding test with high-pressure water. The weathertight door is not less than 0.25Mpa water pressure flushing test, and the watertight door is tested by 5 meters water pressure (0.05Mpa).
1. The weathertight door is a closing device for the entrances and exits of the enclosed superstructure, deckhouse, engine room shed, and lifting port above the freeboard deck.
2. The structure of the Marine weather-tight door should have the same strength as the enclosure structure of the installation place.
3. The steel weathertight doors commonly used in the domestic shipbuilding industry can be divided into four grades: A, B, C, and D. D class doors can be equipped with fixed round windows. Class A weathertight doors are generally required to be equipped with after-force handles. The shape of the corner of the door can be divided into a square corner door and round corner door again, we use a round corner door commonly.
