In the past, the core of galvanized steel wire rope was usually made of sisal and jute, but because these materials easily adsorb acid, alkali, sea water and other corrosive substances during work, the inner steel wire was corroded and broken at an early stage. Polypropylene has been used as the rope core.

The twisting of galvanized steel wire rope is the same as that of ordinary round strand steel wire rope, but according to the working conditions of the steel wire rope, there are different requirements for the thickness of the zinc layer of the raw steel wire: special and No. I galvanized steel wire with a diameter of 0.2~5.0mm, coating The thickness can be divided into 3 groups: the zinc content of the thin coating group is 15~135g/m2, used for mild corrosion conditions; the zinc content of the medium coating group is 60~200g/m2, used for medium corrosion conditions; the thick zinc coating group The zinc content is 75~260g/m2, which is used for severe corrosive conditions. Corresponding inspection should also be done for the corrosion resistance of the galvanized layer.
