1.Introduction
Monel 400 is a kind of corrosion resistant alloy with the largest dosage, the most extensive use and the
best comprehensive performance.This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and
fluorine gas medium and good corrosion resistance to hot concentrated alkali liquor.It is also resistant to
corrosion of neutral solutions, water, sea water, atmosphere and organic compounds.One of the important
characteristics of the alloy is that it generally does not produce stress corrosion cracks and has good
cutting performance.

5.Metallographic structure
The microstructure of Monel400 alloy is high strength single phase solid solution.
6.corrosion resistance
Acid medium: Monel400 is corrosion resistant in sulfuric acid with a concentration of less than 85%.
Monel400 is one of the few important materials in hydrofluoric acid resistance.
Water corrosion: Monel400 alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance in most cases of water
corrosion, but also is seldom found with hole corrosion, stress corrosion, etc. The corrosion rate is
less than 0.025mm/a.
High temperature corrosion: Monel400 continuous work in air generally at about 600 ℃, the
highest temperature in the high temperature steam, corrosion rate is less than 0.026 mm/a.Ammonia:
because Monel400 high nickel alloy content, reason can be below 585 ℃ anhydrous ammonia and
ammoniation under the condition of corrosion.
