Working characteristics of hydraulic motor:

(1) In general working conditions, inlet and outlet pressure of hydraulic motor is higher than atmospheric pressure, so there is no suction energy problem like hydraulic pump. However, if the hydraulic motor is operating under pump conditions, its oil inlet should have a minimum pressure limit to avoid cavitation.

(2) Motor should be able to run forward and backward. Therefore, hydraulic motors are required to have structural symmetry when designed.

(3) Actual working pressure difference of hydraulic motor depends on the magnitude of load torque, when the driven load has a large moment of inertia, high speed, and requires rapid braking or reversal will produce a higher hydraulic impact, for this reason, safety valve and buffer valve should be set in the system.

(4) As internal leakage is inevitable, there will still be a slow skid when braking by closing the oil discharge port of the motor. Therefore, when precise braking is needed for a long time, a brake to prevent skid should be set separately.

(5) Some forms of hydraulic motors must have enough back pressure at the oil return port to ensure normal operation, and the higher the speed, the greater the back pressure is required, the higher the back pressure means the low utilization rate of oil source pressure, and the large loss of the system.
