The hand-held infrared imager is small in size and convenient to carry. During the test, a tester needs to hold the instrument to measure the temperature of the person under test. Instrument protection may have been compromised. If in doubt, send the thermometer for repair. Do not use the thermometer near explosive gases, vapors or dust. To avoid the risk of burns, keep in mind that objects with high reflectivity will often make temperature measurements lower than the actual temperature of the object. If this equipment is used in a manner not specified in this manual, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired.

To avoid damaging the thermometer or device under test, protect them from the following injuries:
From EMF (electromagnetic field) including electric welding machines, electric induction heaters, static electricity, thermal shock (caused by large or sudden ambient temperature changes-wait 30 minutes to stabilize the thermometer before use).
