2. Stainless steel vane type demister advantages

• Experience:
  • Mist droplets are thrown out of the gas by multiple gentle angles, minimizing disruptive eddies at the corners. Metal plates are held by equal-space slotted frames. We care about the details for each application.
• High quality:
  • When you walk on the finished vane pack mist eliminator, you can feel its strength and stiffness. Thicker plates resist fluttering and last longer in corrosive and erosive service. It requires little maintenance after installation in the vessels.
• Lower Pressure Drop:
  • Gentle angles of the plate means lower pressure drop than those with sharp corners and drainage hooks. It makes great difference especially in some applications such as vacuum towers.
• Higher Efficiency:
  • Less turbulence around the corners also means minimal re-entrainment of liquid draining down the plates.Usually for droplets with diameter 20 microns and larger, the removal efficiency is over 90%; and for 40-micron and larger droplets, the removal efficiency can be 99.9%.
• More Throughput:
  • It allows higher gas velocity than mesh pad demister without losing efficiency due to re-entrainment.
• Materials to Suit Your Process:
  • The most common construction materials are carbon steel and 304 and 316 stainless steel. But we understand your corrosion requirements and can provide other alloys or nonmetallic construction as per order.
• Hooked Plates for Special Applications:
  • For PP material, vane plates with small hook is available for option. And for stainless steel material, vanes can be welded with short extensions hooks from one or more corners. That style is preferred by some users to help prevent re-entrainment of liquid.

The design of the demister should fully consider the influence of the section design of the plates, the distance between the plates, the arrangement of the plates, the design of the flushing system and the selection of the nozzles on the operation of the demister.

The whole system of the demister should have a strong adaptability to the operating conditions such as the inclusions flowing through the medium, turbid liquid, the content of solid particles and the pressure of the flushing nozzle, that is, it should still have a good demisting effect when the operating conditions and parameters change, and each guarantee value does not change.

In order to ensure the smooth field installation, the pre assembly of the demister parts should be carried out before leaving the factory to ensure assembly size.

4. Hualai's knowledge on vane type demister,

The mist eliminator system shall be equipped with flushing and drainage devices, and the drainage shall directly enter the absorption tower. The flushing system shall at least include nozzles and internal pipes for easy replacement.

The flushing water system of mist eliminator shall be able to flush the mist eliminator completely to avoid blockage of mist eliminator. The spray range adjacent to the nozzle is partially overlapped to ensure 100% flushing effect.

The mist eliminator shall be able to withstand the flue gas velocity relative to the average velocity in the flow section ± 25%. In the future, we can provide the curve of the liquid holdup of the flue gas at the outlet of the demister under different flow rates.
